Mysteriously, the rock of this cove is dotted with bushy garrigue strands. This peculiarity due to a special ecosystem developed over the years earned him the nickname "leopard skin".
Aleppo pines, cade juniper, fern, sarsaparilla, succulents coexists in this small cove of Marseille and together constitute a natural landscape at the edge of the water.

Cave Cosquer : an enigmatic paleolithic place rich in history in Marseille

The sea often hides secrets in its depths. The proof with the cave Cosquer ! Buried 37 meters below the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, this underwater cave is accessible only by a submerged trail at the foot of Cape Morgiou.
Discovered in the 80s by a professional diver who gave it its name, this cave is now closed to the public for conservation reasons.
It was after extensive research that Paleolithic paintings were revealed to the general public. And even more amazing: some paintings would represent penguins!
As a result of this discovery, the cave was classified as a Historic Monument in the same way as the Cave of the Triperie or the Cave of the Fox, all three present in the protected massif of the creeks of Marseille.
Inaccessible to the public, this cave can be approached by boat while going in the Triperie cave.

Located between the calanque of Morgiou and the cove of the "Oeil de Verre" near the university campus of Luminy, Sugiton is a unique cove. Very wild, it is surrounded by high rock cliffs and is therefore quite difficult to access even by hiking trails.

Over the years, this intimate cove has become a real paradise for naturist lovers in search of a protected place. However, the dangerousness of the pedestrian access to this creek limits its use since a tragic accident dating back to 2005.
